History
Soteria School is a privately owned, faith based, co-educational creche, nursery and primary school for children aged between 5 months to 11 years. This school was established in 2011 in the highly residential but serene area of Satellite Town, Lagos. The vibrant and stimulating environment coupled with the system on which the school is based, encourages all our pupils to build upon their individual strengths to develop a sense of their own worth, while drawing from others to foster love and respect for their neighbors and the world at large.
Soteria School was borne out of the need for our society’s yearning for a total human development. Most of the societal ills that we are faced with today are as a result of maladjusted children who grew up without supervision and functional education.
According to Maria Montessori (an Italian doctor and renowned educator)
“… if education is always to be conceived along the same antiquated lines of a mere transmission of knowledge, there is little to be hoped from it in the bettering of man’s future, for what is the use of transmitting knowledge if the individual’s total development lags behind.”
Our orientation and priorities as a nation has to change and it is only through education that this can be achieved. We are faced with a people whose definition of success is based on one’s financial muscle. Soteria School is here to give that much needed holistic education for the development of a total child.
Our core attribute is developing the total-man for a greater tomorrow (functional society) and this is reflected in our motto “Firm Foundation, Secured Future”.
